Boys Cross Country: Young Wolverines Continue To Improve In Loss To Ashland

September 30, 2026

The Westwood Boys Cross Country team is forging ahead without Roman Grilli and Tino Giannopoulos, two of their best and most experienced runners, and a group of young athletes are continuing to improve.

Wednesday’s meet with Ashland went the way of the Clockers (15-48), but there is reason for long-term optimism.

Ian Lawrence broke the 20-minute mark, finishing in seventh place at 19:49. Right behind him was Shunya Moy, who finished at 20:00 on the button. A pack of Wolverines finished within 20 seconds of each other – Ryan LaCroix at 21:57, Sergio Sian at 22:00, Hayato Moy at 22:09 and Colin Hennessey at 22:13.

Ashland’s Luca Domestico took the top spot in Wednesday’s race, finishing in 17:56.
