PR Party on Senior Day! Wolverines Finish Strong at Home 🏃💨

This Tuesday marked a special day for the Westwood Boys Cross Country team — their final home meet of the season, celebrating both their senior class and the remarkable progress made across the roster. The Wolverines rose to the occasion, with nearly every runner improving on their times from just under two months ago on the same course.
 
Leading the way was captain Owen “The Coach” Cocchi, finishing 4th overall in 17:35, setting the tone for a strong team performance. Close behind was senior Jayden Pillard, breaking the 18-minute barrier for the first time with a 17:58, followed by captain Liam La Croix, who clocked a personal record of 18:06.
 
The next wave of finishers continued the senior showcase: Henrik Ligurs (19:50), Antonio Pagnotti (19:52), and Jack Strzepka (20:21) — all turning in gritty efforts to cap off their home careers. Rounding out the varsity seven was freshman Shunya Moy, who posted a huge PR of 20:29, a testament to his steady improvement throughout the season. Junior Hayato Moy (20:40) also set a personal best, followed by a deep group of freshmen who each recorded standout performances.
 
With momentum on their side, the Wolverines now turn their attention to the upcoming divisional and state meets, where a demanding, mountainous course will put their endurance and mental toughness to the test. After a season defined by progress and perseverance, Westwood is ready to climb one more hill — together.
