From Westwood to the Great Danes: Will Sesselman Set to Play Division I Lacrosse at Albany

Westwood High School junior Will Sesselman, a two-sport standout in football and lacrosse, has announced his commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Albany.
 
The explosive midfielder is coming off a breakout 2024 campaign where he established himself as one of the most dangerous offensive threats in the state. Known for his powerful shot, ability to finish in traffic, and knack for clutch goals, Sesselman was a key spark in Westwood’s postseason run that saw the Wolverines upset the defending state champions and previous year’s runner-up en route to a Final Four appearance in the MIAA Division 2 tournament.
 
In a statement shared on his Instagram, Sesselman wrote:
 
“I am honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 lacrosse at the University of Albany.
 
First, thank you to my mom, dad, and sister, Charley, for their love, support, and the sacrifices they’ve made to help me achieve this dream.
 
Thank you to Coach Morris, Coach Evans, Coach Midura, Coach Z, and the rest of the Laxachusetts and Westwood coaching staff, and to Coach Carmean for his guidance throughout this journey.
 
Finally, thank you to Coach Marr and Coach Thomson for this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait to get to work!

Sesselman’s combination of athleticism, scoring instinct, and leadership has made him one of the most exciting young players to come through the Westwood program in recent years. His ability to create offense — whether dodging from the midfield, finishing in transition, or commanding attention on man-up — has been a major part of Westwood’s resurgence on the state stage.
