Field Hockey Opens Season with Scoreless Tie at Holliston

Defense ruled the day at Kamitian Field as Westwood and Holliston played to a scoreless tie to start the season. Westwood peppered the Holliston goal with 20 shots throughout the course of the game, but the Panther goaltender, “stood on her head,” according to Wolverines coach Heather Joyce.
 
The offense was led by Kahlin Dempsey, Emma FitzPatrick and Maeve Hennessey, who delivered consistent pressure in Holliston’s zone.
 
Moira Kenneally made only two saves for the Wolverines, a testament to the defensive play in front of here. Abby Presley recorded her first defensive save in the 0-0 game.
 
Westwood hosts Norwood Friday at 5:30 in the home opener, scheduled to be played at Flahive Field.
