Westwood boys golf celebrated Senior Night in style on Wednesday, rolling to a 231-293 victory over Keefe Tech at Norfolk Golf Club.
The win was the Wolverines’ third straight and their fifth in the last six matches, continuing a strong late-season surge as Westwood improved to 7-6.
Leading the way was senior captain Matty “Nails” Donovan, who delivered an impressive round of 36 (+1) on Senior Night. Sam Elman was right behind him with a 37, while senior captain Brian Sullivan continued the strong scoring with a 38.
Nolan Lewis, Owen Krupinsky, Riley Blessing and Max McVay each fired rounds of 40, while senior Wyatt Harvey rounded out the Westwood group with a 42.
Following the match, Westwood honored its four seniors — Wyatt Harvey, Nolan Lewis, Matty Donovan and Brian Sullivan — recognizing a group that has played an important role in the program’s success.
The contributions from Westwood’s seniors on Wednesday were also a reminder of just how talented this team can be when everything comes together. With the postseason approaching, the Wolverines are now three wins away from qualifying for sectionals.
That’s a particularly meaningful goal for this senior group after last year’s memorable postseason run, when Westwood advanced through sectionals and earned a spot in the state championship. With the regular season winding down, another opportunity to make a postseason run remains firmly in sight.
Westwood will look to keep its momentum rolling Monday when the Wolverines return home to take on TVL Large opponent Hopkinton.
