As the chilly months of fall and winter approach, it’s a good time to introduce you to a man, Michael Greene, and a company, J&L Energy, who can pad your wallet while making your home more energy efficient.
Do we have your attention yet?
“The typical call we get goes something like this,” said Michael as we chatted in his Canton office. “Someone will say ‘It’s always drafty in my house’ or ‘It’s never quite comfortable’ or ‘My energy bill is through the roof.’ That’s when we step in and do our thing.”
What J&L Energy does is pretty straightforward. As partners with the Mass Save Program, J&L Energy answers that call and addresses the issues, typically at no (or little) cost to the people they’re serving.
“The energy companies – National Grid, Eversource, Columbia Gas – attach a extra charge of about $.50 per month to your bill, which goes into a fund that pays for our services. We come into your home and determine how impactful it will be if we insulate your walls, your attic, your basement, anywhere that didn’t get taken care of when your house was initially built, and while you’re currently living there.”
The impact of the work J&L Energy does can be felt in the temperature and also in your bank account.
“You decide to go with the work, or not,” said Michael. “You completely run the show. We give you the advice and a little bit of education on how we can help. From there, it’s your call.”
While the work J&L Energy does through the Mass Save program is substantial, the team also does a great deal of work in construction and assisting with new development.
“We do a lot of different projects, but we really attempt to get as many people as possible covered through the program.”
A father of two kids, Jack and Lyra, Michael has a good heart and wants to see you benefit from his analysis and insulation work.
“The findings from Mass Save show people end up paying about 1/3 less after we’re done,” he said. “I did a friend’s house two winters ago. He was burning three tanks of oil each season, and now it’s a tank and a half. It’s a service everyone deserves and everyone needs, and I feel like everyone should get a fair shake and work with a good company that really takes it seriously. I can honestly say we are one of them.”
