New year, lift heavy!
As the new year rolls in, let’s remember how important strength training is. It helps with balance, joint health, bone health, weight management, and injury recovery.
But don’t just lift light weight. Push your limits and make progressive strides in the weights you use. Your weights should be heavy enough so that the last of 8 to 10 reps are a bit of struggle. This is the point at which your muscles start to break down and regrow stronger. This is where your calories start burning, and continue burning throughout the day (you can’t get that with cardio).
If you lift heavy, the benefits of strength training will quickly shine through, and you will feel better and look better for 2025 in no time! If you’re interested in working with a professional trainer, please reach out to me!
