The Tinsley Team Standout Students of The Month: Grace Foscaldo, Charles Goodman & Olivia Nasr

The Westwood Rotary Club and Westwood Youth & Family Services created the Recognize-A-Youth Award to honor young people who light up Westwood with authenticity and genuine care.
 
This year’s RAY Award recipients, Grace Foscaldo, Charles Goodman, and Olivia Nasr, embody that spirit with quiet strength, bold creativity, and heartfelt resilience. Through everyday actions and extraordinary kindness, they’re showing all of us what it truly means to lead with heart.
 
Grace Foscaldo is a quiet force, steady, kind, and deeply grounded. She makes an impact by simply showing up, again and again, with empathy and grace. A longtime parishioner of St. Margaret Mary, Grace has spent years giving back, helping at parish events, supporting outreach, and offering humble service wherever it’s needed. At school, she’s the friend who notices your struggle before you’ve said a word.
 
As a peer tutor, she offers calm encouragement and steady support, helping classmates discover their own voice and strength, often before they believe in it themselves.
 
In the summer, she works at Westwood Recreation, where kindergartners and first graders light up the moment she walks in.
 
“I love seeing the smiles on their faces,” she says.
 
It shows. Grace leads through presence. Her kindness builds up those around her. She doesn’t seek the spotlight, she creates it for others. In doing so, she transforms the spaces she inhabits with care, consistency, and quiet power.
 
Charles Goodman not only follow his passions, he brings others along for the journey. Creative, thoughtful, and fearless, Charlie has always marched to his own rhythm. He first captured attention in elementary school with a bold solo performance of “The Sound of Silence.”
 
By middle school, he was writing and recording original songs, sharing them online, not to gain followers, but to spread joy. Even when teased, he stood tall, knowing his voice mattered.
 
“I’ve been a musician for as long as I can remember,” said Charlie. “It’s been my way to be heard, to connect with the community, and to give back. My Eagle Scout project is my way of saying thank you for all that.”
 
That project, a mobile recording studio built to give others the same creative outlet that shaped him, has already raised over $7,000 and reflects the same spirit he brings to every pursuit.Whether performing with the prestigious Handel & Haydn Chorus, winning an adult-level novel competition, or lifting up others through acts of kindness, Charlie leads with heart, courage, and purpose. He reminds us that being fully, fearlessly yourself isn’t just brave, it’s transformative.
 
Olivia Nasr is driven by empathy and energized by action. In sixth grade, a diagnosis of osteomyelitis led to two difficult weeks at Boston Children’s Hospital. Even in that challenging moment, Olivia found light and strength. She discovered comfort in the Marsha Freed Cardiac Resource Room, a space that reminded her she was more than a patient. She was still a kid, still joyful, still whole. That experience sparked something in her.
 
During Heart Health Awareness Month, she launched Livy’s Little Love List, raising over $2,200 to buy and present toys, games, and supplies to the very same hospital room that brought her comfort.
 
“I love community work because it gives me a chance to give back and help others,” she says, and she lives that truth in all she does.
 
Livy’s Little Love List isn’t a one-time effort, it’s a mission Olivia plans to grow year after year. Her impact didn’t stop at the hospital, it rippled through Westwood. Classmates joined her cause. Conversations about heart health and compassion followed.
 
Whether she’s organizing fundraisers, competing on the field, or simply supporting a friend, Olivia leads with joy, resilience, and purpose. She turns challenge into drive and every act of kindness into something that lasts.
 
Grace, Charlie, and Olivia lead because it’s who they are. They remind us that real leadership is rooted in presence, in showing up, and in lifting others without fanfare.
 
In a world that often prioritizes flash over substance, these three youngsters prove that powerful change begins with heart and they are role models to us all.
