Competing against the best of the best from across Massachusetts, Westwood’s Boys and Girls Swimming squads fared well, proving their skill and merit to cap off an impressive season.
The girls competed first, with these results:
50-Meter Freestyle
Michelle Asriyan- 25.25 (10th)
Ryan Colleran – 25.82 (13th)
Charlotte Leonard – 26.42 (18th)
100-Meter Freestyle
Michelle Asriyan – 56.40 (9th)
Ryan Colleran – 58.18 (13th)
200-Meter Freestyle Relay
Michelle Asriyan, Caitlyn Hickey, Charlotte Leonard, Ryan Colleran – 1:45.46 (5th)
400-Meter Freestyle Relay
Charlotte Leonard, Caitlyn Hickey, Ryan Colleran, Michelle Asriyan – 3:55.36 (7th)
The next day, the Westwood boys placed 8th out of 41 teams, highlighted by phenomenal swims from Ethan Lee in the 200 and 500-Meter Freestyle races. Michael Aljamal was strong in the 50-Meter Freestyle and 100-Meter Butterfly. Shane MacDonald was strong in the 200-Meter Individual Medley and 100-Meter Breaststroke.
Lee, Aljimal, MacDonald and Vincent Willis teamed up twice, in the 200-Meter Medley Relay and the 400-Meter Freestyle Relay, where they set a new school record.
Jacob Liu, Luke Li, Jayden Huang and Willis were strong in the 200-Meter Freestyle Relay, as well.
