4th Annual Westwood Athletic Alumni Golf Tournament Drives Community, Tradition, and Impact

On Friday, April 24th, the Westwood Athletic Alumni hosted its 4th Annual Golf Tournament, bringing together alumni, parents, and community members for a day rooted in connection, tradition, and support of Westwood Athletics.
 
After raising $15,000 in last year’s tournament — funds that were used to purchase a new scorer’s table for the basketball and volleyball programs — this year’s event built on that momentum in impressive fashion.
 
The tournament sold out, welcoming 128 golfers on a chilly but sun-filled morning. More than just a gathering of familiar faces, the event continues to represent what makes Westwood special: the lasting connection alumni have to the town and the unwavering support for its athletic programs.
 
This year’s field spanned four decades of athletes, from the 1980s through the 2010s — a powerful reflection of the program’s enduring impact and the pride that continues long after graduation.
 
The event also featured an exceptional collection of Westwood’s athletic legacy. Among those in attendance was an all–Hall of Fame group including John Cronin, Steve McCoy, Kevin McCoy, and Jimmy Conway. They were joined by numerous All-Scholastic athletes, TVL MVPs, and state champions, making it a rare opportunity to bring together many of the program’s most accomplished competitors — all in support of a meaningful cause.
 
Beyond the strong turnout, sponsorship support saw a significant increase this year, further elevating the event’s success. While final fundraising totals are still being finalized, early indications suggest this year’s tournament will surpass last year’s mark.
 
The continued growth of this event is a testament to the strength of the Westwood community.
